Hundreds Enjoy A Rare November Beach Day On Long Island

WANTAGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Are you sure it's November?

With temperatures climbing into the low 70s Tuesday, hundreds of people hit Jones Beach, WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reported.

Mike Lopiccolo, his wife, Lisa, and their two children were among those who were catching some fun and rays at the water's edge.

"Oh, it's a great day," Mike Lopiccolo said. "Beginning of November, can't ask for better.

"You've got to take advantage of these days," he added. "A couple more weeks of this would be great."

Some lounged in beach chairs while others wore bathing suits and played volleyball.

"We're loving it," Lisa Lopiccolo said. "Woke up and decided to come here."
