CBS2 Mourns Loss Of Former Chief Librarian Howard Schlectman

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- We here at CBS2 are mourning the loss of a former long-time employee.

Howard Schlectman worked at CBS2 for more than 30 years as our chief librarian before retiring in 2000.

He was known to colleagues and friends as "Howie," and they describe him as kind, loyal, generous and funny.

Howie grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and lived on Staten Island.

He passed away Thursday at the age of 80.

We here at CBS2 send our thoughts and prayers to Howie's family.
