Health Department Keeps An Eye On Bronx, Manhattan Measles Outbreak

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The city health department is keeping an eye on a measles outbreak in Northern Manhattan and the Bronx.

So far, 16 cases have been identified including 9 children and 7 adults, officials said.

Four people have been hospitalized.

Symptoms of the highly contagious virus include rash, high fever, cough, red eyes, and a runny nose.

The virus can be spread by an infected person four days before symptoms appear.
