Officials: 73-year-old Patricia Zaccario, 76-year-old Michael Zaccario fatally shot at New Jersey nursing facility
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Two people are dead after a shooting at a nursing facility in Hackensack, New Jersey, according to police.
Bergen County officials are identifying the victims as 73-year-old Patricia and 76-year-old Michael Zaccario, both from Wood-Ridge.
Caution tape from Saturday morning's investigation was still across the street from the CareOne at Wellington location in Hackensack, but things are running back to normal at the nursing home.
Police say just before 9 a.m., they responded to a 911 call from the facility about the 73-year-old and 76-year-old both found dead with gunshot wounds.
Security is a little tighter at the facility; there's a security guard at the door.
CareOne responded in a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened by the tragedy that took place at our Wellington building today. Our hearts go out to the victim's family and loved ones."
It adds that it'll be providing staff and residents with support during what they call a "difficult time."
A family leaving the building from visiting a loved one said they had no idea something happened and that the facility is running normally.
CareOne says they're fully cooperating with officials in this investigation and are respecting the privacy of those affected.
The Bergen County prosecutor's office says this was a domestic incident and that they aren't actively looking for any suspects as they, along with local police, investigate.
