New York nonprofit Guardians of Rescue seeks help saving 2 dogs being taken care of by U.S. solders in Honduras

Mission underway to relocate 2 dogs saved by U.S. soldiers

NEW YORK -- A New York-based nonprofit is on a mission to save two dogs that deployed soldiers have been taking care of.

Guardians of Rescue says U.S. soldiers saved Mattie and Riches while stationed in Honduras, but the service members are being re-deployed within days and cannot take them.

The soldiers don't want to leave the dogs behind, so they're working to transport them to their families in the U.S.

Guardians of Rescue is trying to make that possible but relies on donations.
