Knicks Target Greg Monroe Agrees To Deal With Bucks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have landed their big man, and the Knicks are left searching for one.

Agent David Falk says center Greg Monroe has chosen the Milwaukee Bucks over other big-market suitors like the Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.

Yahoo Sports first reported the deal, which is for three years and $50 million. Monroe has a player option on the final year of the deal that will allow the 25-year-old to become a free agent again in two years if he chooses.

Monroe averaged 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Detroit Pistons last year and was one of the most coveted big men on the market.

Falk says Monroe chose the Bucks because they have the best shot of making the playoffs of the teams that expressed interest.

With Monroe off the board, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Knicks will now turn their attention to center Robin Lopez.

Lopez, 27, averaged 9.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks for the Trail Blazers last season.
