Gwyneth Paltrow's Pop-Up Shop Robbed Of $173,000 In Watches, Jewelry
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - Authorities say they are searching for three men who robbed Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop pop-up shop in New York City of more than $173,000 worth of jewelry and watches.
The incident occurred at the lifestyle site's temporary store inside The Shops at Columbus Circle in midtown Manhattan's Time Warner Center late Saturday afternoon, during one of their busiest days, only a few weeks after it opened.
Police say one of the suspects used an unknown object to open a cabinet containing the merchandise while the employees were distracted. The suspect then stole three Rolex watches and two other bracelets.
A statement from Goop said their customers and staff are safe and they "remain open for business with proper security precautions in place.''
Goop is Paltrow's contemporary lifestyle brand for women, centered around events and culture in New York City. Goop's retail line offers women's clothing and accessories.
The store is open through Dec. 24.
