Girl, 10, Finds Loaded Gun In Water At Coney Island Beach
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 10-year-old girl found a loaded handgun on the beach at Coney Island, Brooklyn Monday evening, police said.
The gun was in the sand under about two feet of water. It was close to the mouth of West 19th Street, which runs into the parking lot next to MCU Park, the Abe Stark Skating Arena, and the Parachute Jump.
The girl was with her mother at the beach at the time, police said.
The mother took the gun to a lifeguard, who alerted police. Officers confiscated the gun, police said.
