Girardi On Francesa: 'It Hasn't' Been A Great 20 Games

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Yankees have gotten off to a rough start, to say the least.

The Yanks are sitting in last in the American League East with an 8-12 record.

"It hasn't" been a great 20 games, manager Joe Girardi told Mike Francesa.

The offense has been an issue, getting outscored by 20 runs.

"We started of really well offensively and we've really cooled off since we went to Toronto. The first five games, we were really pretty good, and it's been a struggle ever since. Scratching two or three runs across the board has been difficult," Girardi said. "Through all that we've found a way to win eight games. It probably could be worse the way we've struggled offensively, and I know it's going to turn around."

Girardi also talked to Francesa about Chase Headley's struggles, Aaron Hicks' health, and the problems with the starting rotation.
