Eli Manning On WFAN: Disappointed In Loss, But Pleased With Giants' Offensive Explosion Vs. Saints
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Eli Manning became the first quarterback in NFL history Sunday to throw six touchdowns and no interceptions in a losing effort.
It's a distinction he would rather not have on his resume, he told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Monday, a day after his Giants lost in a 52-49 shootout to the Saints in New Orleans. It was the third highest scoring game in league history.

But while disappointed in the defeat, Manning said he was proud of his six TDs and the offense's performance.
"Happy about the way the offense responded in being down a few times and firing back and tying the game up and taking the lead," he said. "A lot of good things. ... Proud of the way we fought, but obviously would have been nice to get a victory."
Manning said he did not have any bitter feelings about the defense, which allowed Saints QB Drew Brees to throw an NFL-record seven touchdowns.
"That's just football," Manning said. "Those things happen. Some days, the offense struggles, the defense holds you up. Defense played outstanding vs. the Cowboys and got interceptions, interceptions for touchdowns and making plays. We win as a team. The offense, we've got to do our job. Defense has got to do their job. And you never know what the circumstances are."
