George Washington Bridge delays clear hours after truck fire shut down upper level
NEW YORK -- Drivers faced major delays Friday morning on the George Washington Bridge.
A truck fire investigation shut down all lanes of the inbound upper level for seven hours overnight and into the early morning commute.
The upper level has since reopened, but delays persisted at the toll plaza.
Trucks were advised to use the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge as an alternative, and cars could use the lower level or the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels.
