Geno Smith Leaves Game With Knee Injury, Will Not Return
Ryan Mayer
The New York Jets decided to make a change at quarterback this week, handing the reins to Geno Smith ahead of their game against the Baltimore Ravens. Smith replaced Ryan Fitzpatrick who had been struggling through the first six weeks of the season.
After leading the team to a touchdown in the first quarter when he connected on a 69-yard pass to Quincy Enunwa, Smith was sacked on the following drive by Matt Judon and appeared to be injured. He got up slowly and was limping as he walked off the field. After being taken to the locker room for diagnosis, the team tweeted out that he wouldn't be returning to the game due to a knee injury.
Fitzpatrick replaced Smith and will play the remainder of the contest.
