Former Basketball Coach In New York Pleads Guilty In Second Child Sex Abuse Case

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A former Westchester County youth basketball coach already convicted in New York for sexual assaults on children pleaded guilty to similar charges in federal court on Wednesday.

Cortlandt Manor resident Richard Dinizo admitted to sexually abusing seven children all under the age of 11, the U.S. attorney's office said.

The U.S. attorney's office also said Dinizo recorded the abuse and transported the videos out of state. Prosecutors said he blindfolded the children.

He faces between 15 and 170 years in prison when he's sentenced in September.

In February, after pleading guilty in state court, Dinizo was sentenced to 25 years to life for sex acts with three grade-school girls. Prosecutors said the offenses occurred between 2008 and 2010.

The 58-year-old had coached at various schools and leagues but had not coached the girls involved in the case, state prosecutors said.
