Food, Fun & History Found At Atlantic Antic Street Fair In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It was a great day for a fair, and there was a big one held in Brooklyn.
The 40th annual Atlantic Antic took place Sunday along Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and Fourth Avenue, 1010 WINS reported.
The fair is billed as the biggest street festival in New York City, and it wasn't just food, performances and fun for the kids.
1010 WINS' Larry Mullins picked out one exhibit he especially liked.
"I got a chance to walk through the MTA's historical museum on wheels, if you will. And walked through there and it took me way back," Mullins said. "When you look at buses from the 30s and the 40s on up until now, you can see the difference."
Among the food on hand was funnel cake, sausage sandwiches and roasted corn.
"From Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn all the way down to the river -- I think they have every single food on the planet. In fact, I can vouch for it because I've eaten at every single kiosk from here to the river," Mullins said.
Mullins said the fair was also more kid-oriented than it has been in past years.
"Used to be all adults -- vendors selling butter and flowers and garments and things of that nature, but you see a lot things out here now, this year, that are geared toward the children," Mullins said.
The Atlantic Antic is organized every year by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC).
