Food And Drink Chains Offering Freebies To Armed Forces Members, Veterans

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Businesses are honoring members of the armed forces with lots of freebies on Veterans Day.

Starbucks is offering a free, tall brewed coffee to all U.S. military veterans, active duty service members and their spouses.

IHOP is serving up free red, white and blue pancakes to all veterans until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Veterans can get a free haircut at Great Clips or a card to redeem one by Dec. 31 and then grab lunch or dinner without spending a dime at Applebee's, California Pizza Kitchen or Chili's, among others.

And that's only scratching the surface: There are free appetizers, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, car washes and even admission at select theaters to see the World War II film "Fury,'' starring Brad Pitt.
