Firefighters Bring Fire Under Control At Methodist Hospital In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a multi-alarm fire at a Brooklyn hospital.

The FDNY said more than 100 firefighters responded to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope.

The fire was first reported just before 11:20 a.m. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control around 1:30 p.m., WCBS 880 reported.

A department spokesman said the hospital was not evacuated, but some patients were moved to non-affected areas of the hospital.

One patient was treated for complaints of minor smoke inhalation, WCBS 880 reported.

The FDNY said the fire started in the ducts in connection with work being done in the hospital's basement.

Smoke from the fire spread to several floors of the hospital, according to the spokesman.
