Final Child In Southern New Jersey Murder-Suicide Dies

TABERNACLE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A southern New Jersey boy who was critically wounded when his mother shot and killed herself and his two siblings earlier this month has died from his injuries.

Eleven-year-old Alexander Harriman died Wednesday afternoon at a hospital where he had been treated since the Nov. 20 shooting, state police said.

Authorities said Jeannine LePage, 44, committed the shootings at the family's home in Tabernacle, a town in the Pinelands that is 30 miles east of Philadelphia. But they have not said what may have prompted LePage to shoot her children, saying it was a mystery that may never be solved.

Authorities said LePage used a pillow to muffle any noise so five other relatives who lived in the home wouldn't hear what was happening when she shot her children.

Fourteen-year-old Nicholas Harriman and 8-year-old Nadia were also killed.
