Man Who Flew Drone Into Empire State Building To Do Community Service
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey man who crashed a drone into the Empire State Building last month accepted a plea deal on Monday.
Sean Riddle, 27, will only have to serve two days of community service and pay a $200 fine for the stunt, CBS2 reported.
"The people are making this offer because no one was injured as a result of the defendant's actions and luckily, no one was close to being injured," Assistant District Attorney Charles Carluccio told The Daily News.
Riddle accidentally crashed the drone into the skyscraper on Feb. 4. He then called building security and asked for his drone back.
Riddle was initially charged with reckless endangerment and navigation inside the city, and had faced up to a year in jail.
