Elizabeth Man Sought In 2014 Murder Surrenders To Authorities
ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) -- A northern New Jersey man sought in a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded last fall has turned himself in to authorities.
Union County prosecutors say 21-year-old Jihaad Holmes, of Elizabeth, surrendered on Wednesday. He's being held on $1.5 million bail, and it wasn't known if he's retained an attorney.
Holmes is charged with murder and attempted murder in the September 2014 shootings that occurred in Elizabeth. Thirty-two-year-old Michael Gibbs, of Beverly, was killed while an Elizabeth man was wounded but has since recovered.
The name of the wounded man has not ben disclosed.
Holmes could face a life sentence if he's convicted.
