Ed Mullins surrenders to authorities
NEW YORK - Former New York City police union president Ed Mullins appeared in court Wednesday, pleading not guilty to federal criminal charges.
Mullins served as president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association. He surrendered to authorities five months after the FBI raided his home and office.
He walked out of court in Lower Manhattan, making no comment.
Mullins is accused of misappropriating $1 million between 2017-2021. Prosecutors say documents show Mullins submitted hundreds of phony and inflated expense reports.
He is out on $250,000 bond and is due back in court March 17.
