Driver Trapped When Box Truck Hits Semi On New Jersey Turnpike
CARTERET, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A truck driver was trapped Thursday evening after colliding with a tractor trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The accident happened on the Turnpike in Carteret, in the northbound lanes near Exit 12.
The small box truck rear-ended the 18-wheeler, pinning the driver of the small vehicle.
Chopper 2 was over the scene during the 5 p.m. hour, as rescuers began to free the driver of the box truck. Information about injuries to the driver was not immediately available.
There was no word Thursday evening on what led up to the accident.
