Driver Rescued By Good Samaritans After Crashing Near Queensboro Bridge
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- For the fifth time in two years a car has crashed coming off of the Queensboro Bridge.
Just before 4 a.m. the vehicle drove off of the bridge and onto 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, where it slammed into a concrete railing.
The car flipped over and eventually caught fire, 1010 WINS reported.
Good Samaritans pulled the driver out of the vehicle just before it went up in flames.
The driver was taken to Cornell Medical Center with a broken leg, 1010 WINS reported.
Last month a similar accident claimed the life of an off-duty NYPD officer on the Queens side of the bridge, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.
