Downed Wires And Trees Snarl Service For Some NJ TRANSIT, Subway Riders
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The windy weather Thursday snarled the commute for some NJ TRANSIT riders.
NJ TRANSIT says the Morris & Essex Line is back on track after delays between Millburn and Summit and a suspension due to trees down across the tracks in multiple locations.
Earlier, trains on the Morris & Essex Line were running with delays between Milburn, Hoboken and New York because of a downed overhead wire west of Mountain Avenue Station in Montclair.
Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line trains are also on or close to schedule after delays earlier Thursday after the high winds caused debris to fall on overhead wires at multiple locations.
NJ TRANSIT says Newark Air Train is suspended because of the windy weather and said substitute busing is being provided by the Port Authority to and from the Newark station and all terminals. For more information, click here.
Meanwhile in New York City, crews have removed a fallen tree at Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn.

Southbound B subway and Q subway service was impacted as tree was being removed, but service has since resumed.
