Disabled Metro-North Trains Snarl Morning Commute
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Thousands of Metro-North passengers faced delays Friday after frozen rails brought trains to a standstill.
The problems started when four trains got stuck on frozen rails near the Park Avenue Tunnel, affecting traffic in and out of Grand Central Terminal.

It took an hour for them to start moving again, causing delays up to 60 minutes of the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.
In photos posted on Twitter, crowds of people could be seen waiting for trains at the 125th Street station in Harlem.

Valerie Nelson got on a rescue train back to the station and gave up on making it to Manhattan for work.
"I'm going home," she told CBS2's Ilana Gold. "I'll work from home."
Lauren Holderman arrived at the 125th Street after a two-hour delay.
"On the train, no service," said Holderman. "We were just stranded at Grand Central."
Trains are running again, but Metro-North says customers should still expect residual delays.
