Daughter Of 49ers' GM Goes After Team's Offensive Coordinator On Twitter
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The situation in San Francisco is getting downright ugly.
Following the 49ers' 19-3 loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, the daughter of general manager Trent Baalke took to Twitter and had some unkind things to say about the Niners' offensive coordinator, Greg Roman.
According to several reports, Cassie Baalke wrote: "Greg Roman can take a hike..the 49ers don't want you no more."
The tweet was later removed, but it spoke to a familiar theme that has plagued the 49ers all season -- anger and frustration. This despite the fact that they reached at least the NFC championship game in each of the previous three seasons and are still in the mix for a playoff spot this season.
Cassie Baalke later expanded on her tweet, saying, "Everyone's entitled to an opinion..sorry mine doesn't favor you or agree with yours — Cass."
Cassie Baalke's Twitter page has since been deleted.
The 49ers (7-5) sit one game out of the final wild card spot in the NFC. They are also in third place in the NFC West, behind Arizona and Seattle. They were utterly dominated at home by the Seahawks on Thursday night, managing just 164 total yards while turning the ball over three times.
The fans started filing out of brand new Levi's Stadium early in the fourth quarter.
There has been a long-rumored feud between Trent Baalke and head coach Jim Harbaugh, leading many to believe the ornery-yet-successful coach could be on his way out after this season, despite having one year left on his contract.
The Jets have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Harbaugh should he become available. It is largely believed New York owner Woody Johnson could clean house following what has been a very disappointing season.
