Cops Search For Manhattan Bank Robber

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a photo of a man wanted for allegedly robbing one Manhattan bank and attempting to rob two others.

The man robbed the Chase Bank at 101 Barclay Street in Tribeca on Jan. 25, police said. He allegedly passed a teller a note demanding cash before making off with $6,000.

On Tuesday, the same man unsuccessfully tried to rob two other banks -- the Bank of America at 1107 Third Avenue on the Upper East Side and the Chase Bank at 204 West Fourth Street in the West Village -- police said. In both instances, he also passed notes to tellers demanding cash but fled empty-handed, according to authorities.

The suspect is described as being 35 to 45 years old, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and having a thin build.
