Christie Makes Trip To Green Bay To Root On Cowboys Again
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is at Lambeau Field to cheer his beloved Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers.
Christie exchanged a hug and handshake with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones during warmups about 45 minutes before kickoff Sunday. He posed for pictures on the Dallas sideline near the 35-yard line.
Jones has referred to Christie as his team's "mojo" because Dallas has won the last five games Christie has attended wearing an orange sweater for good luck.
There was no sign of the orange sweater before the game Sunday. Christie wore a heavy overcoat when on the field.
Christie's office has said the governor would again sit in the owner's box with Jones.
Christie's lifelong Cowboys fandom has sparked outrage from Eagles, Jets and Giants fans in New Jersey furious about his allegiances, along with ethical question after Christie's office disclosed that Jones had been paying for Christie's box seats along with private jet flights.
