Police: Child critically hurt after being struck by ice cream truck in Brooklyn

NEW YORK -- Police say a child is critically hurt after being struck by an ice cream truck in Brooklyn.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday on Hendrix Street in East New York.
Police say a 58-year-old man was driving the ice cream truck when he struck an 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle.
The child was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police said early Saturday that the driver of the ice cream truck was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.
