NYPD: Suspects Wanted In Robbery Spree Across Brooklyn, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The search is on for two suspects who police say are wanted for four robberies in four nights across Brooklyn and Queens.

The first happened back on March 31 at a gas station on New Utrecht Avenue in Brooklyn.

Employee Sunny Singh said he was stocking up the freezer when the men walked in.

"The two guys came from there in the truck. They enter inside and one goes to me and one enter here," Singh told CBS2's Marc Liverman. "He said, 'Stop man, no move.'"

Police said the men then went behind the counter, removed the register with about $600 and fled.

"They come in, they take the register and take off and after I call the police," Singh said.

Singh said he never put up a fight and just stood waiting in the corner. He said that could be what saved his life.

"I said, 'OK man, you want money,'" he said.

The next day on April 1, police said the two walked into a gas station on Bath Avenue in Brooklyn, went behind the counter and pulled out a knife, pushing a 26-year-old man against the wall. Police said they then took $700 and packs of cigarettes before fleeing.

On April 2, police said they went behind the counter at a grocery store on 31st Street in Queens and threatened a 56-year-old man. They then took $300 and fled in a white vehicle, according to investigators.

Then on April 3 at another gas station on Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, police said the men went behind the counter and punched a 37-year-old man in the head and shoulder. They removed the register, which had $600, and packs of cigarettes before fleeing in a vehicle.

"It's really scary," said Brighton Beach resident Alex Shalman.

"It's not safe. That's the only thing you can think about is it's not safe," said Midwood resident Tony Lau.

Singh said since the robbery, police have being patrolling the area.

"Cops are doing their job," he said. "They came, now they start coming every night. They take rounds and everything."
