Brooklyn Man Faces Charges In Connection With Body Found Stuffed In Storage Container

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a plastic storage container in Brooklyn on Saturday.

Joshua Simser, 24, has been charged with second degree murder.

The man's body was stuffed into a large, black plastic storage container.

Police said they made the discovery at a home in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities said they went to the home after a Brooklyn nightclub owner called police to report that a bouncer at the club admitted to the owner that he'd killed a man.

Police say they arrived at the red-brick, two-family home and found the body, but didn't disclose whether it showed any signs of trauma.

Emergency workers pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.

On Saturday, neighbors told CBS 2's Dave Carlin that police assured them the case would soon be solved.

"Somebody was killed over there by somebody they knew and we have nothing to worry about," Lynn Kerschner said police told her.

Chris Savareace, who told 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten he was a friend of the victim, said he wonders why someone would do this.

"I don't know what made somebody so mad to do that to him. I heard they put him in a box, that's what I heard from the cops. There's some kind of people in the world that really ain't that with it anymore," he said.

Savareace told Carlin he was on a first name basis with the victim, who he said goes by the nickname Chino.

He said the victim did not appear to have a steady job and had a young son who lives in Boston.
