2-Year-Old Girl Recovering After Falling From 3rd Floor Window In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 2-year-old girl is recovering in the hospital after falling out the window of her third floor apartment building in Brooklyn.
It happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on 44th Street in Borough Park.
Investigators believe the child, Nyjeana Civil, slipped under the window guard and went through the screen, falling approximately 30 feet to the red brick sidewalk below.
The child was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in serious but stable condition, the FDNY said. She suffered head and neck injuries but is expected to be OK.
Police are investigating but don't suspect any criminality at this time. They said the girl's mother was home at the time.
