Woman Dead After Hammer Wielding Trio Breaks Into Canarsie Home
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An elderly woman is dead after a hammer wielding trio broke into her home at 9472 Kings Highway in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.
"They was on top of her, just trying to work on her -- heart must have stopped. I asked the officer is she alright? Officer says no, she passed," Melinda Davis told 1010 WINS Al Jones.
Davis lives on the floor below.
Police said the 68-year-old woman was unconscious when they arrived, and a 48-year-old man had been beaten with a hammer.
Arlene said the building doors are locked, and security cameras appear to work.
"Yeah there's cameras in the building and that's why I don't understand why nobody can't be found," she said.
Indeed, the building camera recorded two men and a woman leaving with a duffle bag.
