Bronx Man Faces Murder Charges In Deadly Machete Attack
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The NYPD has arrested a suspect on charges of killing his next-door-neighbor in the hallway of their Bronx apartment building.
Angel Feliz, 26, faces charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Officers were called to the building on 141st Street in Mott Haven Sunday afternoon where they found 59-year-old Carmen Torres-Gonzalez with "numerous lacerations to her body.''
Police allege Feliz came out of his apartment and attacked the woman with a machete, which has been recovered.
A neighbor said when rescue crews arrive it was too late.
"There was nothing they could do," the neighbor told CBS2. "She was dead...there was blood all over the place."
The apparently unprovoked attack occurred in the hallway outside their fifth-floor apartments, police said.
