Police: Student Stabbed Inside Bronx High School

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fight over a phone charger led to a student getting stabbed at a Bronx high school on Thursday.

The incident happened at around 2 p.m. inside Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School.

Police said two boys started fighting before one of them was stabbed three times.

A 17-year-old victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police are looking for the other student who took off.

The Department of Education said additional school safety officers will be at the high school on Friday.

There will also be increased scanning at the school, which does not have metal detectors.
