Officials To Hold Gun Buyback Event In Bronx, No Questions Asked
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Officials are planning a gun buyback program in the Bronx on Saturday to help reduce gun violence and illegal gun ownership.
"It saves lives." Period. End of story," Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clerk told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell.
Clark said guns can be turned in, no questions asked. He said the issues surround crime, but it's also much bigger than that.
"There also are too many instances of children who come upon a gun and play with it and are wounded, traumatized or even killed," he said.
Those surrendering guns will receive $200 bank cards.
The buyback will be offered at two locations: Fellowship Tabernacle Church and Evangelical Garifuna Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
