Police: Suspects Came Down Through Hole To Burglarize Bronx Deli, Set It On Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday were searching for the suspects who broke into an empty Bronx apartment, and cut a hole in the floor to burglarize a deli on the story below and set it on fire.
Around 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, the suspects broke into the empty apartment at 1539 Watson Ave. in the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said.
The suspects then cut a hole in the floor and climbed down into it, coming out on the other side through the ceiling of the deli below, police said.
The suspects took an undetermined amount of cash, baby formula and calling cards, police said.
They then climbed back up through the hole and set the store on fire, police said.
Police have released surveillance video of two suspects.
