Cops: Brick Thrown From Bridge Hits Car On LI Parkway, 2 Injured

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) --  A Long Island man and woman were injured after a brick thrown from a pedestrian footbridge smashed through their car window on the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said.

According to police, the brick was thrown from an overpass near Glenn Curtis Boulevard in Uniondale at around 8 p.m. on Dec. 26.

The brick smashed through the windshield of a 1996 BMW, striking the driver, a 21-year-old Island Park man, in the right shoulder, police said. The passenger, a 22-year-old woman from West Hempstead, was bruised in the eye and mouth, according to police.

The woman was treated at Nassau University Medical Center, police said. She was released shortly after.

The investigation is ongoing.
