Brentwood HS Guards Accused Of Throwing Teen To Ground

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Security guards at a Long Island high school are accused of pushing a student to the ground in Brentwood.

Cell phone video obtained by News 12 shows the 16-year-old being thrown to the ground by security guards at Brentwood High School, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported. The guards then allegedly put the teen in a headlock before handcuffing him. 

According to authorities, the incident occurred after the teen came on school property to confront a member of the school's football team, which then resulted in an altercation.

The teen was arrested by Suffolk County police for criminal trespass. According to authorities, the 16-year-old is not on the Brentwood football team.

A district spokesperson said in a statement that the district has taken steps so that the guards have no further contact with students.
