Prosecutors: 3 Arrested For Raping Teenage Girl In Brentwood Woods
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Three men are behind bars after police say they raped a teenage girl in the woods near a Long Island golf course.
Jose Cornejo, Joel Escobar and Bryan Larios were arrested Friday and charged with sexual assault, robbery and rape, Newsday reported.
Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Lawrence Opisso says Cornejo and Escobar are believed to be gang members.
The men approached the girl near a Brentwood middle school on Friday. They then robbed and attacked her and a male who was with her, prosecutors said.
The suspects then took the girl to a golf course and allegedly raped her in the nearby woods, prosecutors said. She was found naked in the woods by golfers, Newsday reported.
The three are being held without bail.
