Well the Giants did what they had to do Thursday night at MetLife Stadium, as Big Blue earned its first win of the season by downing the Redskins 32-21.

Boomer & Craig kicked off this action-packed Football Friday edition of the Morning Extravaganza by discussing the Giants' triumph, which on the surface might make you think that the heat is now off of Eli Manning and Co. But Craig still has some questions with regards to their clock management, and not even Boomer could provide a reasonable explanation.

Moving right along to the Yankees, they, too, were victorious over the White Sox thanks to a Carlos Beltran three-run homer and some solid pitching.  The 3-2 win brings the Bombers within three games of the Blue Jays, who currently sit atop the AL East.

Following suit, the Mets were also on the winning side of things in their contest with the Reds in Cincinnati -- a 6-4 victory -- and Boomer suspects all the winning might have something to do with the papal visit.

All of that, some reflection on the year 1969 and a discussion about landing on the moon. What more could one ask for?
