Body Of Missing Westchester Man Found By Worker In Wooded Area
SOMERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A missing Westchester County man was found dead in a wooded area Thursday.
Gary McKeon, 67, had last been seen at his home in Somers around 7:30 a.m. this past Friday.
At 1:15 p.m. Thursday, New York State Police reported that McKeon had been found by a worker in a wooded area off State Route 202 in Somers.
The cause of McKeon's death will be determined following an autopsy, but there were no signs of foul play, police said.
McKeon, a father of five, suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease.
"We either think that he walked out of the house and through the neighborhood and slipped and fell and he's located there or somebody saw him on the road and picked him up," McKeon's son, Eamon, told 1010 WINS earlier this week.
The discovery of McKeon's body followed a weeklong search involving multiple police and fire agencies using divers, helicopters, canine units and other tools at their disposal.
