Body Found Off Palisades Interstate Parkway Identified As Woman Who Vanished

ALPINE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A body found in northern New Jersey is a woman who went missing last year, authorities said Friday.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said on his Twitter account Friday that the body found Wednesday off the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Alpine has been positively identified as Mila Kostadinova, 18.

On Tuesday, Antony Freay, 19, was arrested in connection with Kostadinova's disappearance. He was charged with desecrating or damaging human remains and hindering apprehension by concealing evidence and providing false information.

Kostadinova was last seen at Antony Freay's home at 189 Jefferson Ave. in Cresskill on June 2, 2014.

Freay was accused of failing to report Kostadinova's death after his lawyer says he found the her dead and tossed her body over a cliff.

Attorney Albert Wunsch told The Record newspaper Freay ``did not react the way he should have reacted'' when he found his friend dead of an apparent overdose.
