NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A truck driver was arrested after a collision in the Bronx that left a female bicyclist dead, according to police.
Robert Owens, 45, of Manhattan, was driving a 2006 International Harvester box truck on Southern Boulevard in the Bronx when the truck hit a female bicyclist, police said. After knocking the 29-year-old woman to the ground, the truck hit the woman for a second time with the front tire of the vehicle, police said.
The woman, identified as Heather Lough, was found lying in the street, unconscious and unresponsive, at around 8:50 a.m. Monday morning, police said. She was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
