Citi Field Bites: Where to Eat While Watching The New York Mets
With the Mets kicking off their 2017 season, fans of the Amazins will be flocking to Flushing to watch all the action. While you could stick with the traditional snacks, Citi Field also boasts a wide selection of delicious food options to tantalize your taste buds as you root for your favorite team. Nicoletta
Field Level Concourse
America's favorite pastime collides with an East Village staple at Citi Field's Nicoletta concession. Renowned Chef Michael White's restaurant is known for their pizza and their signature Chicken Parmesan in three options -- the classic, stracciatella cheese, and Stromboli with sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella and red onions. You can also order mozzarella sticks, pepperoni sticks and soft-serve ice cream.
Josh Capon's Bash Burger
Field Level Section
A day at Citi Field is a bash with Josh Capon's Bash Burger. Restaurateur Josh Capon brings three of his signature burgers to game with a stand at the Field Level Section. The award-winning namesake burger is topped with onion and bacon jam. Hungrier fans can order the Double Barrel Burger with two burgers, cheese, fried onion, pickles and their secret sauce.
Dō
Promenade Club
One of New York's hottest dessert spots is opening an outpost at Citi Field. Located inside the Promenade Club, Dō brings their safe-to-eat edible cookie dough to Mets fans. While there will be a condensed selection of their signature dough flavors, people can show their team spirit with the Cake Batter flavor topped with orange and blue sprinkles.
Catch of the Day
Field Level Section
Seafood hits a home run at Citi Field at Catch of the Day. While this eatery has been a staple at the Field Level section, this season they revamped the menu for baseball fans. The new menu features South Bay Lobster Tacos filled with lobster, tomatillo-avocado salsa, citrus slaw, quest fresco and jalapeño. People can also order their Loaded Bayside Fries topped with Cherrystones clam strips and clam chowder fondue. These new additions will become a favorite among the fans.
Big Mozz
Promenade Level
Baseball fans can forget about the hotdogs and cracker jacks for a game day snacks and order mozzarella sticks with Big Mozz. Located in the Promenade section, the food stand has become a popular spot at Smorgasburg and is known for their mouthwatering hand-made sticks.
Shake Shack
Outfield Concourse
If you've never eaten at Shake Shack, then hit their outpost in the outfield. Devour one of their delicious ShackBurgers with special sauce and signature crinkle fries, or opt for a flat-top hot dog – you are at a baseball game after all! Satisfy your sweet tooth with a their "The Strike Cone" frozen custard – vanilla frozen custard blended with chocolate truffle cookie dough, "shattered" sugar cone and chocolate sprinkles. Don't forget to grab a brew in one of their signature cups.
Pig Guy NYC
S'mores Bacon on a Stick. Yep, you can get bacon dipped in semi-sweet chocolate, crushed graham cracker, and marshmallow at the Pig Guy NYC stand. Who needs a malt when you can have this? That's not the only topping available – try Sriracha maple glaze or their salted caramel. Either way, your stick of bacon (and you) will be happy.
Two Boots
Don't fear vegans, you can nosh on slices from Two Boots Pizza. All four stands will be serving a vegan-friendly menu as well as a variety of slices sure to please pizza lovers of any preference.
Blue Smoke
Behind Center Field/Section 140
BBQ and baseball fans can come together at Danny Meyer's Blue Smoke. From pulled pork and brisket to fried chicken and ribs, you'll certainly get your southern fix. Grab a platter of meat with corn bread and pit beans, or choose one of their tasty sandwiches like the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and buttermilk ranch sauce on a brioche bun.
