Bergen County Lottery Players Hit Streak Of Good Luck

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Lottery players in Bergen County are on a winning streak.

Since August, the green machines have churned out multiple lottery tickets worth $1 million and more, CBS2's Vanessa Murdock reported.

Diane Donnelly, of Foodtown in Old Tappan, sold a Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth $1.1 million to a coworker and friend, Tamara Hee. Donnelly received a call from Hee 30 minutes after the drawing.

"I pretty much flew up out of bed and said to my husband 'I sold the winning million-dollar ticket,'" she said.

In total, four big winners have been sold in fewer months.

Since August, two winning Jersey Cash 5 tickets were sold in Old Tappan and Dumont, and two instant tickets made for some happy scratchers in Washington Township and Saddle Brook.

Jack Bisesi said he knows the Saddle Brook winner, Patricia Esposito, but hasn't heard from her since she took home her fortune.

"She disappeared," he said with a laugh.

Baldev Patel, owner of Krauzer's Food Store, sold her the winning ticket and watched her scratch her way to $1 million.

"She was excited, she could not speak even," Patel said.
