Back Stories: Deadly Crash At JFK Airport

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- In today's Back Story, a tragic crash at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

There was a deadly Eastern Airlines crash at JFK in June 1975. It was described as a very grim, very devastating accident.

Flight 727 approached the pylons, because of a wind sheer, before reaching the runway. 113 of the 114 passengers on board died in the crash.
