Authorities: Passenger Pulled Knife On NJ TRANSIT Conductor Near Red Bank

RED BANK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A passenger was detained Tuesday, after allegedly pulling a knife on the conductor of a NJ TRANSIT train.

It was not known Tuesday evening what sparked the confrontation, which occurred around 9 a.m. while the North Jersey Coast Line train was in motion.

The train originated in Manhattan at Penn Station, and was bounds for Long Branch, New Jersey, 1010 WINS reported.

The passenger was arrested when the train stopped at the Red Bank station in Monmouth County. But further details on the incident and the charges the passenger faces have not been disclosed.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Authorities say the train was held for 13 minutes at the station while the arrest took place.
