Police Investigating Violent Altercation At Long Island Mall
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Nassau County are investigating after an argument over a mall parking space turned violent.
Police said the 49-year-old female victim tried to park her vehicle at the Green Acres Mall on Sunday, April 28 when she saw a man standing in the space apparently holding the spot.
The woman then parked in a different space, police said. But as she walked toward the mall, the woman got into an argument over the original parking space with another woman.
Authorities said the argument escalated into a physical altercation and the woman was thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched in the face and head.
The fight was captured on cell phone video.
The victim suffered minor injuries to her face but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
Nassau police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
