Police: Army Recruiter Arrested For Child Pornography

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP)-- Police on Long Island say a U.S. Army recruiter has been arrested on charges alleging he possessed child pornography.

Suffolk County police say 46-year-old Terrence Cole was arrested Friday morning. He pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of possessing a sexual performance of a child.

Investigators say they seized a collection of explicit photos and videos when police executed a search warrant at his apartment in Patchogue.

The search warrant was a result of a continuing investigation initiated by detectives into child pornography distributed over the internet.

Police say Cole works as a recruiter for the U.S. Army. The Army hasn't immediately responded to a request for comment on Cole's arrest.

Prosecutors say Cole was ordered held Friday on $150,000 bail.

He didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment. His attorney, Robert Curran, declined to comment on the case.
