US Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Speaking At NYU Forum
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will participate in a forum on transportation and economic mobility Tuesday afternoon at NYU.
One issue to be discussed is the impact that transportation inequality has on income inequality, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.
"You're not going to get people to participate in the labor market unless they have access to work," said Mitchell Moss, director of NYU's Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management.
"Some of the areas that don't have adequate subways are going to have to have better buses," he added.
Moss said the federal government needs to enact some type of tax reform to provide money for transit.
